Preston Singletary and David Franklin
This sculpture, based on the traditional Tlingit Singer’s Dance Staff explores this dynamic relationship between the Wolf and the Raven. Traditionally very tall and shaped like a Killer Whale’s dorsal fin, Preston’s family crest, this sculpture also depicts Raven in the act of stealing the light for the good of mankind at the top.
The sculpture is made from stainless steel and glass and 23′ tall. The sculpture near the intersection of 11th and Glisan, in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District.
