Geomorphic Tapestries

With Aaron Whelton for Tetra Hotel, Sunnyvale,California

Located at the Tetra Hotel at the intersection of Java and Bordeaux Sunnyvale CA

Surfaces of earth on edge.  Billowing of clouds in the Bay breeze. Contours of sand carved by the tide. Redwoods with knotholes that frame the sky. This installation can deliver the viewer into a world turned on its end, in the form of monoliths that oscillate between the etherial and the earthly.

Step off the busy corner and find a place to sit amongst the giants. Let the warm curves defuse the sound, bustle, and breeze. Watch as Geomorphic Tapestries change with sun and season.

“The mountains seemed edged with phosphorus, and a pale cold light like a glow-worm’s light seemed to glow through the skin of the land.’

To a God Unknown

-John Steinbeck

Working with Aaron Whelton is always a great experience. His skills have a way of tearing down the barriers of what’s possible and turn them into what is achievable. More about our collaborations can be found here.
